History About Dehradun :
According to Mythology, Guru Ram Rai son of Sage Person Guru Har Rai Came in this region with his all followers. He Developed a Camp here for Stay When the modern city of Dehradun Started to develop. Thus the city was named Dehradun. Dehradun is also known as as the land of Shiva where Rama and Lakshmana from Mahabharta era performed penance and Pandavas from Mahabharata era rested on their way up to the mountains. The town has been a popular summer getaway from the time the British gained control of the Garhwal region after a war with the Gurkhas.
