The tourism of the state is coping with the havoc caused during 2013 flash floods. More pilgrims were seen this year during the Char Dham Yatra as compared to last year. About 8, 07,000 pilgrims visited Char Dham and Hemkund Saheb , this season. From which 7, 32,000 pilgrims visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri and Gangotri dhams.
Whereas, last year only 2, 81,000 pilgrims visited the Char Dhams and 75,000 devotees visited Hemkund Saheb, as an outcome of the flash floods of 2013. The numbers were presented on Tuesday, by Trilok Security System India who was in charge of the Biometric Registration.
With the closure of doors of Badrinath shrine on Tuesday, the yatra for this season will be resumed shortly.
