Chaiti Devi temple in Kashipur is also known by the name of Mata Bal Sundari Devi Mandir. It is one of the 51 shakti peethas of Mata Sati. This temple of Chaiti Devi is located in the Kashipur region in Uttarakhand. A larger variety of people return to this temple within the month of Chait.This Chaiti Devi temple attracts thousands of devotes from all over the world because of its rich history and mythology.

This temple is also known as Jwala Devi Mandir or Ujjaini Devi. It is one of the most popular temples in Kashipur.

History and Legend of Chaiti Devi Temple

This place carries a lot of historical importance in the past. It has its name in Mahabharata which is also confirmed by the Archeological Survey of India. the experts believed that this place was built in North India during the Chalcolithic age.

It is also believed that legends of the country, Gautam Buddha, Tulsidas, Guru Nanak Dev, Guru Gorakhnath and Dayanand Saraswathi had lived in this region. Ujjain was the name of the Kashipur during Vedic period and the river Dehla was referred to as Swarnbhatta at that time. At the time of King Harsha rule, this place got its name as Givishan, sometimes Govisana and also mentioned by the famous Chinese traveler Hueing Tsang, who visited India during the time of 7th century.

During this time there was a Kashinath Adhikari that establish this city and in his honor this place was termed as Kashipur. Chaiti devi mandir is a really important historical temple of Kashipur.

By Train : The nearest railway station to reach the Chaiti Devi temple is from Ramnagar, Kathgodam, Moradabad, Bareilly, Delhi, and Lucknow. You can take a taxi or cab to reach to your destination. Even the shared taxis are also an available option.
By Road : This place is very close to the National Highway 74. tourists and pilgrims find it very easy to reach to the location. It is located in between kashipur and Bajpur which is only 2.5 km from Kashipur bus stand.
