A step forward has been taken for Chardham railway line project. Govt has pass the 120 crore budget for the survey of construction of rail line connecting Chardham in Uttarakhand.
In the recent Rail Budget 2017, Uttarakhand gets total 566 crores for different railway projects in the state. Along with major Char Dham rail project, the electrification of Raiwala to Rishikesh and Najibabad to Kotdwar railway lines has been sanction too. The Chardham railway project survey will cover 327 kms area at 120.92 crore budget cost. The tentative duration of completion of project is not cleared till now. Apart from survey, 41 crores has been sanction for tourist facilities in Uttarakhand.
