Yamunotri Dham Trek- Medical Examination at Janakichatti

More than 296 pilgrims have been stopped from visiting Yamunotri Dham. All these pilgrims are stopped by administration after medical examination at Janki Chatti. Though pilgrims who have been deprived from Yamunotri Yatra looks disappointed, but administration takes the decision as due to high altitude more pilgrims are facing breathing problems and heart attack.

Yamunotri Temple is situated at about 4421 mtrs above sea level and pilgrims have to take steep trek of 5 kms from Janki Chatti. Due to high altitude and steep trek many pilgrims face breathing problems. To tackle such a situation this year administration is taking medical examination of pilgrims at Jankichatti and then provide permission for further trek. It is noted that 4 pilgrims died due to heart attacks after the opening of Yamunotri Dham. More than 45000 pilgrims visited the shrine so far.
