Good news for the pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Yatra. Six years after the disaster, ATM service once again has started in Kedarnath Dham. HDFC Bank has installed an ATM machine and from yesterday the service of ATM was started duly in Dham. This will benefit the pilgrims coming here.
Prior to the 2013 disaster, Kedarnath used to be a temporary branch of State Bank of India (SBI), which was operated only for six months. But during the disaster, this branch of the bank was washed away, due to which more than 45 lakhs of money was also washed away. After this, the banking service in Kedarnath was shut down. After the disaster, the administration and the government attempted to launch a banking service in Dham, but the effort took six years. On Friday 02 August at 10 am, ATM service was duly launched by HDFC Bank in Kedarnath.
