The Badrinath Highway, which was closed late Monday evening in Lambabad, was opened on Tuesday at around eleven o’clock in the morning. After the highway opened, 1332 pilgrims reached Badrinath Dham, while 565 pilgrims returned to the destination by sighting Badrinath Dham.
During the heavy rains on Monday, the highway was closed late in Lambagad, due to which the Badrinath Yatra was stopped and the pilgrims were struck in various places. After the weather was cleared on Tuesday, the debris lying on the road was removed with the help of JCB. After that, the journey of Badrinath Dham was started normally from 11 a.m. onwards. Highway was cleared after removing debris and boulders after about a Five and a half hour junk. With the opening of the path, devotees breathed in peace and started their journey for Badrinath Dham. Yogendra Singh, Deputy Collector, Joshimath said that after opening the highway, pilgrims who were stopped at different places were sent to Badrinath Dham.
