This time the figure of devotees is going to set a new record in Chardham Yatra. Encouraged by this, the government is going to register this figure in the Limca Book of Records. After completion Chardham Yatra, application for registration will be done with new data. The 2013 natural disaster in Uttarakhand had a direct impact on the Chardham Yatra. In 2014, the number of devotees was reduced to just 3.33 lakh.
However, the number of devotees gradually increased in the following years. In 2018, the number of pilgrims reached 27.81 lakh. This time the figure is going to break this record. So far, 27.32 lakh pilgrims have arrived. More than three months left to complete the Yatra. In such a situation, the number of devotees is expected to cross 30 lakhs this time. The tourism department is assuming this figure as a big record. In such a situation, it is set to be recorded in the Limca Book of Records.
