Pilgrims coming from outside the state will also have to compulsorily register on the smart city portal. After 15 days of applying the second dose of Covid vaccine, travel will be allowed on production of the certificate. But for pilgrims coming from Kerala, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, along with double dose certificate, 72 hours before the Covid test negative report has been made mandatory.
Secretary Dharmaswa Harichandra Semwal has issued SOP for Chardham Yatra. Meanwhile, the Chardham Devasthanam Management Board has also issued SOP. There are similar provisions in both the SOPs. The yatra in Chardham will be operated from September 18. Conditional permission will be given to pilgrims coming from state and outside the state.
In order to visit the CharDhams, travelers will first have to register on the website of the Devasthanam Board. After which a limited number of e-passes will be issued daily by the Devasthanam Board. The e-pass of the pilgrims will be checked before having darshan at the main gate of the temple complex.
Prohibition on offering prasad and applying tilak in the Chardham Temples
In view of the Covid transition, the pilgrims visiting the Chardhams will not offer Prasad. Also, the pilgrims will not wear tilak in the temples. There will be a ban on touching idols and bells in the temple, bathing in hot pools. In Kedarnath Dham, only six pilgrims will be able to have darshan from the hall at a time. No one will not be allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum.
To prevent corona infection in Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham, sanitization and cleanliness will be done thrice a day in the temple premises. By following the Covid protocol in the temples, wearing of masks, social distancing will be monitored by the Devasthanam Management Board with CCTV cameras. Nodal officer will be posted in each Dham by the Health Department. It will be the responsibility of the district administration and SDM to follow the SOP.
How to Register for Chardham Yatra
For Chardham Yatra, pilgrims coming from the state and outside will have to register on the website of Devasthanam Management Board https://badrinath-kedarnath.gov.in/. It will be mandatory for the pilgrims coming from outside states to first register on the Smart City Portal. Whereas the pilgrims of the state will not have to register on this portal.
One has to register on the website of Devasthanam Board for e-pass for travel. After which e-passes will be issued. People who have received both doses of the vaccine 15 days ago, they will not have to undergo a Covid test. Negative report of Covid test is mandatory for the person having a single dose. It will be mandatory for pilgrims coming from Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh to have a Covid negative report 72 hours before after applying both the doses of the vaccine.
