Now the Kanwads are traveling are reaching higher hills to take the holy Ganga water. In one such Kanwad yatra, a group of Kanwadis has taken the auto (tricycle) to Gangotri for the Kanwad. This is the first time that a Auto has arrived in Gangotri.
The auto has been running right from Pinjore of Panchkula district of Haryana and will take holy water from Gangotri. As the festival of Shravan Shivaratri approaches, the strollers of the Kanwadis on the Gangotri route have increased.
However, till now most of the Kanwadis were coming from the trucks, utilities, Bolero, bikes and bullets, one such group has taken a three-wheeler vehicle and reached Gangotri for the first time. The auto has covered 400 kms from Panchkula district to Gangotri, with an auto driver of HR-68B-8864 number and other five Kanwadis from Pinjore. A huge crowd of people came on road to see auto at Chinyalisaud, Dharasu Band, Dunda, Uttarkashi, Bhatwadi and Gangotri.
People asked the auto driver about how he drive auto to Gangotri in mountainous climbing roads. The leader of the group said that no problem has been faced till Rishikesh. After that there was some steep climbing in the route where they have empty the auto. Now, they have to reach Pinjore by July 20, taking the Kanwad from Gangotri.
