Ganga ji’s Doli left the temple at 12.15 pm on Monday, and left for Gangotri Dham at 12.35 pm, from Mukhwa the winter abode of Mother Ganga. Doli will reach Bhairav temple in Bhairav Ghaati for the rest of the night. Ganga’s Doli will depart from Bhairav temple on Tuesday for Gangotri. On Tuesday afternoon at 11.30 pm, the doors of Gangotri Temple will open for all the devotees. On Tuesday, the doors of Yamunotri Temple will also open.
Worship started in the temple in Mukhwa since Monday morning. After which the devotees started gathering with the villagers of Mukhwa, Dharali and Harshil Village. By the afternoon, the mausoleum of the devotees had begun in Mukhwa village. The idol of Lord Ganesha was prepared in the temple. At 12.15 in the afternoon, the Ganga’s Doli was taken out of the temple. At 12.35 pm, the Ganga’s Doli leaves the temple with the Army band of the 2nd Mahar Regiment and headed for the Gangotri Dham. Devotees of the country and from abroad also accompanied by the locals in the yatra.
