Governor has ordered checking of public vehicles for fitness before Chardham yatra begin from next month. The checking will be statewide and run as a campaign to ensure any accidents due to unfit vehicles.
The Governor express concern over recent road accidents in Uttarakhand. He told that yatra season is going to start next month and visitors from all over the country visit holy shrines. There should be only completely fit vehicles on road for Char Dham Yatra.
He also told that rule of two drivers in long journey should have to strictly to be follow. Adding to this stern action will be taken against drivers found drunk on duty. He strictly told official of Transport Department to set accountability from now on in case of accidents.
