Chardham yatra will get its rail connectivity project very soon. Centre govt nods for the extension of Rishikesh-Karanprayag rail line to Sonprayag (for Kedarnath) and Joshimath (for Badrinath). Rail minister Suresh Prabhu will inaugurate rail project on 13 May at Badrinath.
The newly extension rail line project will be advantage to the state tourism and pilgrims visiting Chardham every year. It is also very crucial as per national defence due to border areas with Nepal and China.
Union Cabinet Rail Minister Suresh Prabhu will visit Kedarnath, Badrinath and Gangotri on 13 May to check the feasibility of rail line connectivity to Gangotri and Yamunotri. He will also inaugurate the Chardham Railway Line Project extension in Badrinath at 12:30 pm.
