Kedarnath Heli Services fare will not increase
There is some relief for the pilgrims that this time the fare of heli services operating for Kedarnath Dham will not increase. The reason for this is that the state government has signed a three-year contract with the companies in the year 2020. Due to this the heli fare fare for Kedarnath will remain the same this year as well.
Heli services are operated for Kedarnath Dham every year after the start of Chardham Yatra in the state. Heli services to Kedarnath Dham are operated from temporary helipads built at Phata, Sirsi and Guptkashi in Kedar Ghati. They are surveyed by the Office of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) before starting the Yatra. The operation of the Kedarnath heli service starts only after the survey.
In the year 2020, the Chardham Yatra was affected due to Corona. In the year 2021, UCADA prepares to start heli services again in May. Meanwhile, the second wave of corona infection arrived. Due to this heli services were started in October. However, during this period, due to restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of corona infection, a limited number of passengers were allowed to go through the heli service.
This year the covid restrictions are over. In such a situation, this time the state government is busy with the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. For this, preparations are being made to start heli services to Kedarnath Dham. This time there is a preparation to set up a booking counter and help desk in Guptkashi as well.
Secretary Civil Aviation Dilip Jawalkar says that preparations are being made to start Kedarnath heli services. Booking of heli services to Kedarnath will be started from April. He said that this year also the fare of heli services will not be increased.
