Kedarnath Trek Reconstruction work gained momentum
The construction work of ghat at Sangam, bridge on Saraswati river, Yatra Control and Command Centre, BKTC building, hospital building, residential building for rights holders is going on in full swing, which is targeted to be completed in this season. After heavy rains on July 31, movement on foot along with horses and mules had become difficult till Kedarnath.
PWD had repaired the footpath in 25 days and started operation of horses and mules. After this, the journey started along with the movement on foot. Now, construction material has started reaching Kedarnath by horses and mules, due to which the work has started gaining momentum.
Vinay Jhinquan, Executive Engineer, PWD, said, the second phase of reconstruction work is going on in Kedarnath. Due to the daily rains in the area, construction work is becoming difficult. Despite this, the target has been set to complete the works in time bound manner.
5000 registrations per day for the second phase of Kedarnath Yatra
On an average, five thousand registrations are being done online every day for darshan in the second phase of Chardham Yatra. After the end of the monsoon season, travel will pick up pace again after September 15.
Till now, more than 33 lakh pilgrims have visited the four Dhams. Chardham Yatra has also come to a halt due to incidents of landslides during the monsoon season, but pilgrims from the country and the world are registering online to travel in the second leg. According to the information of the Tourism Department, on an average five thousand people are registering online to travel in a day.
More than 56 lakh pilgrims have registered since the beginning of Chardham Yatra. In this, 33 lakh pilgrims have visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. Chardham Yatra will continue till October and November. Even at present the doors of all four Dhams are open, but due to rain there is no crowd to visit the Dhams.
According to the daily report of Chardham Yatra Administration, the number of pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham in a day is less than five hundred. At the same time, 1500 devotees are visiting Badrinath Dham in a day.
