Kedarnath Trek Timings : Due to Adverse Weather, No Pilgrims Allowed from Sonprayag after 10:30 am

Latest Update : In view of the rain and snowfall in Kedarnath, Pilgrims will not be allowed to visit Kedarnath Dham after 10:30 am from Sonprayag.

Normally, Pilgrims have to start trek before 1:30 pm from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. No pilgrims will be permitted to trek after the last minute. Also pilgrims coming down from Kedarnath have to leave before 05:00 pm. The decision is taken for the safety of pilgrims.

Note : The timings for Kedarnath Trek changes as per weather conditions.

DM Rudraprayag has given order to follow the new trek timings to Kedarnath. Now trek route will have fix timing for pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham. Administration is making sure that pilgrim will not face any issue with it. Any pilgrims will not be allowed to leave for Kedarnath from Sonprayag after 01:00 pm and Gaurikund after 01:30 pm. Similarly pilgrims will not able to continue trek after 05:00 pm from Bhimbali and 06:00 pm from Lincholi.

Hi, There are Hotels & GMVN Tents to stay at night ranges between 500 to 5000 rupees. Single beds/ rooms are available. If you are in great fitness, you can do trek up and down in a day too. Ample food and refreshment facilities available on the trek route.

Yes possible ,start from Gaurikund at 5am n reach Kedar by 10am take darshan and start return at 1pm then u will be in Gaurikund around 5pm

Don’t misguide. It is absolutely difficult. Recently we visited Sri Kedarnath (1st June 2023). Darshan itself will take minimum 5 hours (due to long line). Then trekking is very very difficult. Road condition is very bad. Thousands of pilgrims and thousands of Horses make it more difficult. If it is raining then situation becomes worse. Possibility of raining is most probable. With all this visits to Kedarnath in one day is very very risky and difficult. Moreover no administrations support at all. Luckily we came back safely.

Chardham road is being widen up under well known Chardham All Weather Road project. During the Chardham yatra, pilgrims might get some delays as JCB’s are on work during day & night. Otherwise road are well and good conditions for travel.

You should start Kedarnath trek early morning and it will take 6-8 hrs to reach Kedarpuri.

Hi, it will take minimum 8-9 hrs including 30 min snacks break to reach Gaurikund from Haridwar. From Gaurikund to Badrinath it will take 7-8 hrs.

Horse will atke 5 hrs to reach Kedarnath from Gaurikund. It will take 6-7 hrs to reach by walk.

Say if I start teh trek around 4 am.. say around 11 am I reach the temple. If I start around 12 pm can I start descending towards gaurikund?
