Weather in Uttarakhand has completely wrecked people’s life. The river is on full flow and that caused panic among all the people. The Meteorological Department has issued heavy rain warning within the next 12 hours in the state. The monsoon going towards farewell came again in Uttarakhand on Monday with the troubles. Life is affected by the rains from last three days.

Kedar Dham Yatra suspended due to Heavy rain

In Kedarnath due to heavy rain from last 36 hours the difficulties of pilgrims have increased.  Due to rain and landslide on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath route, had blocked at several places. On Monday afternoon, at Lincholi on the way to Kedarnath, due to debris from the hill, the road has been badly damaged, about 20 meters of road cut down due to landslide. The administration has stopped the the pilgrims here, as well as the pilgrims traveling from Gaurikund to Kedarnath have been sent back. Due to rain, the yatra has been stopped since Monday morning. The pilgrims have not been sent to Kedarnath. Debris has spread everywhere on the Gaurikund-Kedarnath foot road. Journey has been interrupted due to landslide. Passengers on the pedestrian track are stopped at safe hamlets.

Snowfall in the hills of Uttarakhand

At the same time, due to snowfall in the high Himalayan peaks, there is a lot of freezing in Chardham. Along with Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham, high peaks of the Har-ki-dun valley are covered with snow. Badrinath Highway opened in Lambagad the second day after noon. Gangotri & Yamunotri Highway is closed at various places due to landslide. Meanwhile, the administration has stopped Kedarnath Yatra at around noon after considering the weather conditions.

According to DM Rudraprayag,

Mangesh Ghildiyal, District Magistrate of Rudraprayag, said that the Kedarnath Yatra has been stopped recently due to the threat of stones falling from the hill. Pilgrims have been returned from Bhimbali. 1340 passengers stranded on the roads are being taken to safer places.

Current Status of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

On the other hand, after completing the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, 49 passengers who were in the last two crew who reached Gianji (Pithoragarh) were also trapped on the third day. Helicopters had not been able to fly from Pithoragarh to bring them due to bad weather. The house of a rural in the Dubbad Zainal Mittikhal Village of Champawat district came under the jurisdiction of landslide. Baliyanawala Village of Nainital had again been jurisdiction due to landslide.
