On Wednesday and Thursday, Ganga Dussehra and Nirjala Ekadashi Festivals have to be celebrated in Kumbh Nagari Haridwar. For reducing the traffic jam due to passenger vehicles in Haridwar, there will be no entry for the Chardham passenger vehicles for the next five days in the city.
On June 3, at the Somavati Amavasya bath festival, 60 lakh pilgrims arrived in Haridwar for bath, due to which the Delhi-Dehradun highway was fully packed. The devotees had to be stuck in the jam for five to eight hours. While taking lessons from this, the police administration has prepared a special traffic plan for bathing festivals such as Ganga Dashehra, Nirjala Ekadashi, etc.
