There is a good news for the pilgrims of Kedarnath shrine as the central government has accepted the proposal of making a ropeway between Linchauli and Kedarnath. In accordance with the new plan the government has also decided to make a ropeway from Tehri Lake to New Tehri to reinforce tourism in Uttarakhand. The government has strategically planned to make pathways around the dams for leisure walks.
The Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand Mr. Dinesh Dhanai met the Central Minister of Tourism Mr. Mahesh Sharma to discuss about this matter. They debated on the new schemes and programmes which should be adopted to flourish tourism in the state. Earlier Chief Minister Mr. Harish Rawat also conducted a meeting with the Tourism Minister. In which they talked about the various schemes and blue print regarding the tourism of the state which shall be implemented as soon as possible. In this meeting they also talked about changing the name of Jolly Grant Airport to Doon Airport.
