On one hand where low lying plain areas are reeling under the scorching heat of sun, while the weather is pleasant on the other hand in the mountains. For the last few days, high altitude regions are witnessing intermittent light rain. On Monday morning, Badrinath, Hemkund, Kedarnath along with Gaumukh received significant snowfall, while rainfall in other mountain areas gave relief to the people from heat.

On Monday, several areas in Chamoli district including Badrinath, Hemkund, Kedarnath in Rudraprayag, Gaumukh in Uttarkashi received heavy snowfall. While the weather in other areas of these districts turned pleasant after the rainfall in the morning. The sky was overcasted in Dehradun, Tehri, Kotdwara, Pauri and Srinagar since morning. Kumaun was also covered with clouds since morning. Pithoragarh received light drizzle. Rain and overcast conditions prevailed all over the state which gave relief to the people from heat. According to the State Meteorological Centre Dehradun, rain is expected in other parts of Uttarakhand until Tuesday because of Western Disturbances.
