Special arrangements of health services have been arranged during the Chardham yatra which begins from May 07. The Health Department has deployed a team of 84 Physicians. It includes 54 specialist doctors. At the same time, CMOs of respective districts have been given financial powers to provide oxygen cylinders and generic medicines 24 hours a day.
The health department has completed all the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Relief posts will be established on behalf of the Department on Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath Yatra routes. Here the oxygen cylinder, generic medicines will also be available with the team of Physicians. The department has fixed the duty of the doctors from various districts for the Chardham yatra.
There will be 54 specialist doctors and 30 general physicians. Duty of general doctors will be for 30 days and duty of MBBS doctors for 15 days, which will be changed on a rotating basis. Dr. Ravindra Thapliyal, Director of General Health says that the department has completed all the arrangements for the Chardham yatra. During the Yatra, if the oxygen cylinders or medicines end, the financial powers have been given to the CMO of the respective districts. They can buy 50,000 rupees medicines and oxygen cylinders directly. No permission will be required from this.
