The administration has made a special plan for security of third Kedar Lord Tungnath Dham in the winter. From the December month, the movement of tourists or other will be fully restricted to the temple area from Chopta . Besides, the forest department and police will be entrusted with responsibility for the temple’s security. The administration has issued instructions to the department in this regard.
Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee and the administration do not want to give up on the security of the Tungnath temple. Since the closure of Dham’s cupboard on October 27, four of its employees have been deployed for the maintenance of the temple. After the snowfall starts from December this year, they will be deployed in the Chopta area below the temple area, from where they will not allow any tourists to the temple area.
On the other side from the administration, the responsibility of security of the temple from December will be handed over to the forest department and the police. Two or two jawans / employees from both departments will be posted in the Tungnath temple. Prakash Purohit, the manager of the Tungnath Temple Committee, said that there is full vigil on the safety of the Dham. Up to snowfall, four employees have been deployed in the temple.
Gopal Singh Chauhan, SDM Ukhimath, said that in the winter, responsibility for the protection of third Kedar Tungnath Dham is being entrusted to the Police and Forest Department. Two-two jawans / employees from both departments will be deployed at the temple. At the same time, the Forest Department was instructed not to allow tourists or anyone else to go to Tungnath from Chopta. If instructions not followed, then strict action will be taken against the concerned personnel.
