Border Roads Organization is working tirelessly to clear the debris off the Gangotri Highway and the Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway 58 after the recent cloudburst that led to heavy rainfall and landslide in Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts of Uttarakhand.

The Gangotri Dham is expected to restart after the restoration work is complete on the Gangotri Highway, while NH-58 is also being cleared at Joshimath. The weather officials expect heavy to very heavy rainfall in eight districts for the next 24 hours at least. Rescue officials are asked to camp in the affected areas and ensure that there is no dearth of ration.
