Huge tourist turnout is recorded at Valley of Flowers this year. All previous records have been broken and for the first time tourists flocked in huge numbers in the flowering valley after the Kedarnath disaster in 2013.
According to park officials, the highest tourist reached the valley this year after the calamity of 2013. This year, the flowering valley was opened for visitors and common people on June 1. Since then, 12,194 tourists from across the globe have reached the valley. With the movement of tourists, Nanda Devi National Park has earned income of INR 19,77,000 .
Forest Regional Officer of Nanda Devi National Park Deepak Rawat said that after the disaster, Valley of Flowers receives most number of Indian and foreign tourists this year. There is still a month left for the closing of the valley. The Valley of Flowers will be closed on 21 Oct 2017.
If similar arrival of tourists continues, the number of tourists will cross 15,000 till next month.
