After declaring Yamunotri Dham an Iconic Place by Central Government, it has also been directly connected to the Secretariat in District headquarters and Dehradun. Now, from Jankichatti to Yamunotri, the administration will be able to monitor the journey of the pilgrims. This system also helps the administration to supervise the travel management, disaster management and sanitation management. In February, the central government declared Yamunotri Dham as iconic place. District Magistrate Ashok Chauhan told that the live system is working from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri Dham. It will be decided to inaugurate this system in Mid-July.
Speaking to reporters, District Magistrate Dr. Chauhan said, that local wireless internet network has been prepared on the lines of Kedarnath in Yamunotri Dham. Under this system, the administration can be done the meeting under the supervision of Secretariat, District headquarters and Tehsil headquarter, and also supervise the live monitoring of Yamunotri Dham. In addition, the district administration will also be able to keep eye on the pilgrims in perilous conditions.
Gangotri, Yamunotri and Baijnath Dham of Uttarakhand are included on the list of 20 clean iconic places of the country. In Yamunotri Dham, satellite is running through BSNL’s 2G service and it is also get spoiled in the bad weather conditions. There is no communication service available on the pedestrian path from Jankichatti to Yamunotri. Keeping in the mind, the administration also work on this to strengthening the communication service in the iconic place.
Local Wireless Internet Network was created in Yamunotri Dham with a grant of 72 lakhs of GAIL Company’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) team. This network is connected to the SWAN (State Wide Area Network) centres of Tehsil, District Headquarters and Secretariat. This will help the administration in controlling the crowd, monitoring the operation of horse mules and monitoring of construction works.
