The gates of Gangotri Dham will be closed on the eve of the Ann Koot festival on November 8, while the doors of the Yamunotri temple will be closed on the eve of Bhaiya Dooj on November 9 the next day. On the occasion of Ashtami of Navaratri, the Priests of Gangotri Dham decided the closing date of Gangotri Temple according to the Panchang, whereas the closing date of Yamunotri Temple will be decided on the day of Ram Navami.
On Wednesday occasion of Ashtami, the priests of Gangotri Dham decided the closing date. Temple committee secretary Suresh Semwal said that according to the Panchang, 8 November will be the closing date of Gangotri Temple. On the Holy Festival of Ann Koot at 12:30 pm the gates of temples will be closed with all the rituals for the winter season. After this, in the winter, the devotees will be able to earn the virtue of worship in the Ganga temple located at Mukhba.
On this occasion, the temple committee chairman Mukesh Semwal, Ganesh Semwal, Sanjeev Semwal, Aruna Semwal, Premvallabh Samwal, and others were present. Meanwhile, Purushottam Uniyal, former secretary of the Yamunotri temple committee, said that the Yamunotri Dham will be closed on November 9 at the holy festival of Bhaiya Dooj. It will be decided on the day of Ram Navami. After the closure of the gates, devotees will be able to worship in Yamuna Temple situated in Kharsali Village, the winter migration of Maa Yamuna.
