The road to Yamunotri Dham Ropeway Project has been cleared. Till now the work hasn’t started due to technical difficulty of Land transfer. Now Forest Department has transferred land to Tourism Department for Yamunotri ropeway construction.
Tourism department has released order for construction to ropeway agency. If all things go well then construction work for Yamunotri ropeway will start from February month.
For easy pilgrimage to Yamunotri Dham, a ropeway is proposed between Kharsali to Yamunotri Temple. It will be 3.5 kms long ropeway which has estimated cost of 1200 crores. The ropeway project was approved in 2006. Villagers of Kharsali village even donated 62 nali land but due to technical difficulty in land transfer, the construction couldn’t be started.
District Tourism Development Officer Rahul Chaube has told that Land has been transferred now and order has been given to ropeway company to start the construction work.
