Yamunotri, the first dham of the Char Dhams in Uttarakhand, will open for the summers on May 14 at 12.15 pm. On the same morning, the festive idol of the mother Yamuna will be taken from Kharsali to Yamunotri Dham with a doli yatra. On Sunday, on the occasion of Yamuna Jayanti, the opening date of Yamunotri Dham has been declared.

On Sunday, a meeting of Yamunotri Temple Committee and Tirtha Purohit was held at Yamuna Temple situated in Kharsali village during the winter stay of mother Yamuna, in which the opening date of Yamunotri Dham was fixed. According to which, on May 14, on the auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya, Yamuna ji’s doli will depart from Kharsali to Yamunotri Dham at 9.15 am. At 12.15 pm in the Abhijeet Muhurat, the doors of the Yamunotri temple will be opened for the devotees.
