The newly appointed Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Mr. Harish Rawat orders completion of Gaurikund-Kedarnath Road before the start of Char Dham Yatra.
The new route of Kedarnath will be of 22 kms from Gaurikund, (the route is yet to be fixed). The opening date of Badrinath has already been announced. The opening date of Kedarnath Temple will be announced on Shiv Ratri.
Mr. Rawat made the announcement at a high level meeting with officials to review the preparations for upcoming season, which will start from May.
He said the efficient officers will work on the project to speed up the work, and make the route safe and convenient for pilgrims.
