The Uttarakhand government is now planning to launch a trail of destinations traversed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. This Trail is likely to be named “Modi Trail” and is set to be launch in the Char Dham yatra 2020. The trail is expected to connect the Rudra cave in Kedarnath, where PM Modi meditated ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the Jim Corbett National Park, where he shot a wildlife documentary with Bear Grylls.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by State tourism minister Satpal Maharaj. He said that “We recently held a meeting on developing a trail in the name of PM Narendra Modi who has contributed a lot to the promotion of tourism and wildlife in the state. We will meet the forest minister and other officials soon to finalize the details. The trail is likely to introduce in the Next Chardham Yatra 2020. The tourism department wants to connect the two destinations by air, from Ramnagar to Kedarnath via Dehradun.”
He also suggested to the officials to recruit trained forest and tourist guides between the Modi Trail. All the guides should be equipped with a Mobile Application that would be developed to familiarize the pilgrims and tourists with the locations where Prime Minister Modi spent time and did some activities.
