Kedarnath

One of India’s most prized temple attractions is Kedarnath village, which is situated in the majestic Garhwal Himalayas. At 3,580 metres above sea level, the settlement, which is centred on the famous Kedarnath temple, is located close to the Chorabari glacier, which serves as the Mandakini river’s source. The ancient Shiva temple has a wonderful structure and is constructed of incredibly large but uniformly sized grey stone slabs. In the temple, Lord Shiva is revered as a conical rock formation in his “Sadashiva” form. One of India’s 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, the Kedarnath temple is devoted to him and is a stop on the Char Dham pilgrimage route. Behind the Kedarnath temple, the Kedarnath mountain, Kedar Dome, and other Himalayan peaks may be viewed.

Auli

Auli is the most popular ski resort in India. It is a small, idyllic community. The ski slopes in Auli, which were initially constructed as a paramilitary outpost, are well-liked by both tourists and experts. Throughout the winter, Auli offers a variety of snow adventure activities, including ski lessons. Its elevation of about 2,800 metres and the acres of oak and coniferous forests that surround it provide it panoramic vistas of some of India’s highest peaks, including Nanda Devi, the second-highest mountain in the nation (7,816m). It also serves as a gateway to the Valley of Flowers and Nanda Devi National Parks, which contain the Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib and well-known hiking destinations including Tapovan, Pangerchulla Summit, and Gorson Bugyal.

Temple of Anusuya Devi and Atri Muni Ashram

The Anusuya Devi Temple, which is devoted to the goddess Sati, is one of the most well-known pilgrimage sites in Chamoli. She was the spouse of the famous sage and Sapta Rishi Atri Muni (Sapta means seven and rishis mean sages in Sanskrit). According to legend, Devi Anusuya gave her husband her all. It is 30 kilometres from Chopta. It draws pilgrims since it is situated in the Himalayas. Every year, a sizable fair is held in December to celebrate Duttatreya Jayanti, which attracts many of devotees and tourists. They sing Bhajans to the Goddess Sati all night long while holding lit lamps in their palms.

Kalpeshwar

In the picturesque Urgam valley in Uttarakhand, India, at a height of 2200 metres, the Kalpeshwar temple honours Lord Shiva. It is a component of the renowned Panch Kedar. This tiny stone shrine, which is reached via a cave tunnel, is where people worship Lord Shiva’s matted tresses (jata).

The distance from the closest road head in Helong on the RishikeshBadrinath highway is only 12 kilometres. The Kalpeshwar temple, the fifth of the Panch Kedar (five temples) of Shiva’s five physically holy forms, is connected to the Pandavas, heroes of the epic Mahabharata.

Gopeshwar

Gopeshwar, the official centre for the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, is situated 1300 metres above sea level. It is well known for its temples and for the natural beauty that is enhanced by the great weather. Some claim that Lord Krishna is connected to the name Gopeshwar.
