How to Reach Kedarnath to Badrinath
Chardham Yatra is one of the most holy pilgrimage for any Hindu. Pilgrims from all over the globe visit Chardham shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. This long Chardham Yatra could be done by Road and Air route.
In similar manner, one can visit Kedarnath to Badrinath through road and heli service.
Kedarnath to Badrinath Road Route
While going from Kedarnath to Badrinath by road one have to take taxi or bus from Sonprayag. The road distance from Kedarnath to Badrinath (Sonprayag to Badrinath) is 211 Kms. There is another road route via Rudraprayag also available from Kedarnath to Badrinath which is 224 Kms long. Lets check both road route with distances and enroute places.
Route 1 : Kedarnath to Badrinath via Mandal
Sonprayag -> Sirsi – Phata – Narayankoti – Guptkashi – Ukhimath (45 Kms) -> Mastura – Makku Bend – Duggalbitta – Baniyakund – Chopta (30 Kms) -> Mandal (25 Kms) -> Gopeshwar (16 kms) -> Chamoli (11 Kms) – Birahi – Pipalkoti – Dwing – Hailang – Nagrasu – Joshimath (52 Kms) -> Vishnuprayag – Govind Ghat – Pandukeshwar – Lambagad – Hanuman Chatti – Badrinath (46 Kms)
Route 2 : Kedarnath to Badrinath via Rudraprayag

Pilgrims who are travelling Chardham Yatra and already have a vehicle could check above road route and travel time. Solo travellers/ pilgrims who are looking for travel only from Kedarnath to Badrinath will have to take Route 2 i.e via Rudraprayag, since regular buses/ taxis are available from Sonprayag to Rudraprayag. One should start travelling from Kedarnath (Sonprayag) to Badrinath at early morning as most of the taxis/ buses left for Rudraprayag till noon.
One can also hire a taxi directly to Badrinath from Sonprayag, but it will be little costly.
Kedarnath to Badrinath Travel By Helicopter
Helicopter service from Kedarnath to Badrinath only available if you are on Helicopter Package from Dehradun to Kedarnath-Badrinath. There is no full proof Kedarnath to Badrinath Heli Service.
But one could check at Sirsi/ Phata/ Guptkashi Helipads if there is any seat in Helicopter flying to Badrinath.

If one travel from Badrinath to Kedarnath, then there will be some changes in travel planning instead of same road route. Many pilgrims prefer to visit Badrinath before Kedarnath as Badrinath Dham is more far away from Haridwar wrt Kedarnath Dham. There would same distance chart from Badrinath to Kedarnath.

Badrinath to Kedarnath Travel By Road
Travel distance and travel time would be same as 211 Kms and 7 to 8 Hrs respectively in Bus/ Taxi. One can get Bus either to Sonprayag (Kedarnath) from Badrinath Bus Stand in morning or could take Bus to Rudraprayag/ Joshimath to continue journey. If taking route 2 via Rudraparayag, then one have to start early morning and travel to Rudraparayag anyhow. There are number of Buses/ Taxis available till evening in Chardham Yatra season which would take you to Sonprayag .
The helicopter service from Badrinath to Kedarnath would be same as per above i.e no direct service available other than Helicopter Package from Dehradun/ Delhi to Badrinath – Kadarnath.
