Chardham Yatra may start from 01 July in a phased manner

The Uttarakhand government is contemplating to start the Chardham Yatra in a phased manner from July 1. The government is not in a position to start the yatra from June 22. 

On Thursday, Chief Secretary held a review meeting at the Secretariat regarding the preparations for the Chardham Yatra. In the meeting, there was a brainstorming on the implementation of the preparations in the light of the guidelines of the High Court.

Kedarnath Dham to receive 12 feet tall Adiguru Shankaracharya statue

The statue of Adiguru Shankaracharya will soon be installed in Kedarnath Dham. The sculptors of Mysore have carved a 12 feet high statue out of Krishnashila stone. The transit will reach on June 25. The idol is polished with coconut water to enhance the shine.

Adiguru Shankaracharya’s samadhi was washed away in the divine calamity in the year 2013. After this, the design of Adiguru Shankaracharya Samadhi was prepared under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Kedarnath reconstruction works.

Second Kedar, Madmaheshwar Dham will open today

The kapaat of the second Kedar, Lord Madmaheshwar, will be opened today at 11 am with Vedic hymns. Due to Corona infection, only a limited number of administrations, police and Hak-Hakukdharis will be present at the opening of Madhyamaheshwar Dham. After this, the worship of Lord Madmaheshwar will be done at Madmaheshwar Dham for next six months.

Badrinath Dham will be developed as ‘Smart Spiritual Hilltown‘. On Thursday, in the presence of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat and Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, an agreement was signed between Kedarnath Utthan Trust and the public sector companies of the Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas to develop Badrinath Dham as a smart spiritual town .

The MoU was signed by Secretary Tanu Kapoor on behalf of the Ministry of Petroleum and Tourism Secretary and Dilip Javalkar on behalf of Uttarakhand. On this occasion, the Union Petroleum Minister assured that the oil companies will also cooperate in the development of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham.

Chardham Yatra now open for all, 70000 e-passes issued till now

Gangotri Temple will open on 26 April 2020

Gangotri Dham will be opened for devotees on 26th April 2020 at 12:35 PM on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya. On the occasion of Navratri, on Wednesday, the date and time of the inauguration ceremony were decided by Shri Panch Mandir Samiti Gangotri Dham according to the Hindu calendar. Along with this, the chairman of the committee, Suresh Semwal said that on April 25, at 12:30 pm, the Ganga Doli of Maa Ganga may leave its Winter Abode from Mukhba Village.   On the first day of the journey, the Ganga Doli will rest for the night in the Bhairav temple. After which the Doli Yatra can again depart for Gangotri Dham on 26th April 2020.

The Doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will be open on April 30 at 4.30 a.m. After the Panchang and Ganesh worship in Rajmahal situated at Narendranagar (Tehri), Pandit Krishna Prasad Uniyal on behalf of the Maharaja declared the date of opening of the Badrinath Temple. Heli services have started for Kedarnath Dham

03 helicopter companies operating in the Kedarnath Dham has started their services from Monday 09 September.  After the rainy season, the second phase of heli services has started for Kedarnath Dham, which will continue until the closure of the Temple. With the start of the heli service, now the pilgrims will also get the ease of traveling. Heli services to Kedarnath shrine were halted in the first week of July as soon as the monsoon started. But, now that the rain is towards farewell, the second phase of heli services to Dham has started. Under this, the Aryan Aviation Company on Monday started its service from Guptkashi Helipad While Heritage and Himalayan Heli Company started its flight From Sersi Helipad.

Hans Foundation started 12-bedded Hospital in Kedarnath Base Camp

On Monday, Governor of Uttarakhand Baby Rani Maurya and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated Swami Vivekananda Charitable Hospital at Kedarnath Base Camp. The hospital has been opened by Founder of Hans Foundation, Bhole Ji Maharaj and Mata Mangala. Free medical facilities will be available to the Pilgrims in the hospital.  With the deployment of the surgeon, MRI and ventilator machine will also be arranged here. The hospital at Kedarnath will be operated by Swami Vivekananda Health Mission Society, Dehradun. This 12-bed hospital has a staff of 25 employees, including doctors and paramedical staff. During the journey, pilgrims will get X-rays, ventilators, intensive care units (ICUs) and other facilities. Also, there is separate female, male and ICU wards here. Regular deployment of two doctors will continue in the hospital.

Online Pooja Booking started for Badri-Kedar Dham

Online booking has been started for the worship of Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has launched a website for online Pooja booking. In about one and a quarter month, the temple committee has received online booking of 16 lakh and 30 thousand rupees for worship by pilgrims. Temple committee chairman Mohan Prasad Thapliyal said that pilgrims can log in to the website of the temple committee to get information about Badrinath, Kedarnath Dham as well as committee subordinate temples, Panch Kedar, Panch Badri, Panch Prayag. Apart from the details of worship of various temples, other information is also available on the website.

Helicopter Service for Kedarnath will resume from September

Helicopter service will begin for Kedarnath from September. The heli companies have started their preparations for the next phase. Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) has got around 25 thousand online bookings. Helicopter service to Kedarnath has been closed since last July due to rain and bad weather. The devotees are reaching Temple through the Gaurikund-Kedarnath walkway. Now the helicopter service will start in September. Anil Upreti, the manager of Pawan Hans Heli Company, said that so far 3400 passengers have booked for the second leg of the journey.

Annakoot fair will be celebrated today in Kedarnath

All the preparations for the Bhatuj (Annakoot) fair, which will start from Wednesday night, a day before the festival of Raksha Bandhan in Kedarnath Dham have been completed. During the fair, the doors of the temple will be open overnight for the devotees to visit. The Annkut fair (Bhatuj) in Kedarnath is held every year on the night before Raksha Bandhan. Huge pilgrims attend the fair and take darshan of decorated shiv linga from midnight to 04:00 am in the morning. Annkut fair is also held in Vishwanath temple in Guptkashi, Ghuneshwar temple in Lamgaundi and Kaleshwar temple in Ukhimath.

Chardham Yatra 2019 may register in Limca Book of Records

This time the figure of devotees is going to set a new record in Chardham Yatra. Encouraged by this, the government is going to register this figure in the Limca Book of Records. After completion Chardham Yatra, application for registration will be done with new data. In 2018, the number of pilgrims reached 27.81 lakh. This time the figure is going to break this record. So far, 27.32 lakh pilgrims have arrived. More than three months left to complete the Yatra. In such a situation, the number of devotees is expected to cross 30 lakhs this time. The tourism department is assuming this figure as a big record. In such a situation, it is set to be recorded in the Limca Book of Records.

ATM service started in Kedarnath Dham

According to State Government this year Kedarnath Yatra can break all previous records of the number of pilgrims. So far, 08 lakh pilgrims have reached Kedarnath and the estimate is that in the coming days, the number of Devotees can increase. It is believed that the number of pilgrims is expected to reach 12 lakhs till the closure of the temple. According to officials of the Kedarnath Temple Committee, the highest number of pilgrims had reached Kedarnath in the previous was in the year 2018. Around 07 lakhs pilgrims visited Kedarnath that year.

Birla group will do reconstruction work in Kedarnath Dham

The Aditya Birla Group is ready to collaborate with the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee for the reconstruction work in Kedarnath. Birla group will make Night Shelters for the devotees coming to Kedarnath. Birla Group will also make residence colonies for the Raval, Priests and other staff of the temple. Birla Group has agreed to make Rawal and Pujari Niwas, Toshakhana, Dispensary, Puja Office, Panther Room, Administrative Building, Inquiries, Bhog Mandi and 200 Night Shelters for devotees. The Aditya Birla Group is ready for the redevelopment work once the land is finalized.

Record 22 Lakh Pilgrims Visited Chardham in just 50 Days

In Uttarakhand this year, about 22 lakh pilgrims have already visited Chardham and this number is continuously increasing. State Tourism Minister, Satpal Maharaj said in a press conference that 22 lakh 35 thousand devotees have visited in BadrinathKedarnathGangotri and Yamunotri Dham in Uttarakhand till June 27.  The journey has started more than 50 days. More than 22 lakh 35 thousand pilgrims have visited Chardham during this period. On the other hand, about 7 Lakh 60 Thousand devotees visited Kedarnath from the Opening Day on 09 May to 27 June.

Heli services for Kedarnath may be closed since July 05

Along with the slow pace of Kedarnath Yatra, the Heli companies have started to close their services for monsoon season. UT Air company has stopped its service from 22 June. Other companies will also return in the next four days. Only Thambi Aviation has said that they will provide the helicopter service till July 5. From May 16 to June 23, 55,894 pilgrims has visited Kedarnath Dham through helicopters. In the one-and-a-half month of Kedarnath Yatra which began on May 9, around 7 lakh 40 thousand pilgrims have visited Baba Kedar. The helicopter service was started in Kedarnath by 09 Heli Companies on May 16.

Helicopter Tickets for Chardham will now book through GMVN only

Now the administration has tried a new way to stop the rigging of tickets in the Helicopter Services in Chardham and Kedarnath Yatra. Accordingly, these tickets will now be booked only through the Garhwal Mangal Vikas Nigam (GMVN). This system will be implemented effectively from September 1. This is expected to bring 100 % transparency of in booking tickets. Tickets can be booked both online and offline. The booking will be 70 percent online and 30 percent offline.

New Route Plan for Chardham Yatra

High Altitude 10-bed hospital open in Kedarnath

Professor of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Ravi Kant inaugurated the 10-bed hospital of Six Sigma Medical High Altitude Services in Kedarnath Dham. He told that all the latest medical facilities available in this hospital which are necessary for a high altitude area. Special arrangements have been made for the treatment of serious patients in the hospital like MRI, CT scan and any other type of operation. Patients with heart-related problems are most prone to high altitude areas. For this, the AIIMS institute has provided all the medical facilities as per the requirement in Chardham.

No more VIP darshan at Kedarnath due to heavy rush

The ruckus created by VIP visitors in Kedarnath will now be stopped in Kedarnath. Both the VIPs and common pilgrims can now take darshan simultaneously. The huge turnout of pilgrims leading to hours waiting for darshan. In that situation, VIP visit deepens the problem.  Rudraprayag District administration has taken several decisions keeping in view the convenience of the devotees. He said that now VIPs has also been included in the line of common devotees. The District Magistrate says that after the 10 devotees in the queue outside the Temple premises, 1 VIP devotees will be included in the line. It will not cause any problems to the common pilgrims.

Hemkund Sahib reopens for the devotees on Saturday 01 June

Located in the high Himalayas, the holy shrine of Hemkund Sahib is open for public on Saturday 01 June at 10:30 am in the Morning. On the very first day, around 10000 pilgrims paid their obeisance at the holy temple. On Saturday morning, the first group of devotees led by Panch Pyares reached the holy shrine from Ghangharia. Thousands of devotees also took a holy dip in the Hemkund Sarovar on the auspicious occasion.

GMVN started booking of Helicopter Services

GMVN has started booking tickets for 02 Helicopter services for Kedarnath Dham. GMVN will operate Heritage Aviation and Krystal Aviation helicopter services from Sersi helipad. The tickets booking for these helicopter services will be done from GMVN Tourist Rest House at Guptkashi and GMVN TRH at Rampur. Now total of 09 Helicopter services are operational for Kedarnath from Phata, Sersi, and Guptkashi.

Second Kedar “Madhyamaheshwar Temple” opens to Devotees

After the winter migration, the door of second Kedar Madhyamaheshwar Temple was opened today at 11:00 am in the morning. On Monday, the palanquin of Baba Madhameshwar reached the final stop Gondar village for the night stay. The villagers worshiped the Lord with flowers and Sweets. Baba Madmaheshwar’s doli arrived at Gondar village at 10.30 am. Chief priest Bagesh Ling worshiped the palanquin of Lord. Earlier this morning, at 7 am, chief priest of the temple offers prayer at the Rakeshwari temple located at Ransi village. After all religious formalities, at 8.00 am, the Doli of God Madhameshwar, departing from Ransi village, left for his dham. After reaching dham, chief priest worshipped the temple and opens the door to the devotees at 11:10 am.

07 Heli Companies to Provide Kedarnath Yatra

Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has given license to 07 Heli companies to operate in Kedarnath Dham. Along with this, the heli fare has also been fixed by Govt. One side fare has been decided separately from different places. In this order, the fare has been fixed from Rs.2470 to Rs.4275. Authorities have appealed to pilgrims not to pay more than the fixed rent in any form. According to R. Rajesh Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer of UCADA, a total of 07 companies have been given permission under the heli service for Kedarnath Yatra. Of which 05 companies have started operations.

Portals of Fourth Kedar ‘Rudranath’ open for the pilgrims

Famous as one of the Panch Kedars, the fourth Kedar “Rudranath’ threw its doors open for the devotees on Sunday. Following the grand ceremony, valves were opened amid chanting of Vedic mantras at five early in the morning. Approximately 500 pilgrims did darshan of Lord Shiva after the doors opened. The holy Rudranath temple is located 2286 mts above sea level surrounded by bugyals. The sacred palanquin of Rudranath reached Rudranath temple late in the evening crossing bugyals and icebergs. The doors were then opened after arti at 4’o clock in the morning. The chief priest Ashu Tiwari did ornamentation of the deity after it. The pilgrims and local devotees present in the temple paid obeisance and made wishes to God.

Chardham rail project will be complete in ten years

Millions of pilgrims going to Char Dham Yatra are getting very soon in connection with the railway connectivity. The entire route plan has been prepared by Indian Railway for the Chardham Yatra. 10 years later, the pilgrims will be able to travel Chardham through the train. The final survey of this ambitious project of the Central Government has been completed. 50,000crore rupees will be spent on the project. The Central Government has started this ambitious project to connect Chardhams of Uttarakhand to the rail network. Railway Vikas Nigam Limited has completed the final survey of this project.
